London Legal Walk 2023

Registration for the 2023 London Legal Walk has now closed. Thank you to all 16,000 walkers who have registered, making this year’s event the biggest in our 19 year history. We look forward to walking shoulder to shoulder in support of access to justice on Tuesday 13 June.

For 19 years the London Legal Walk has been bringing together the legal community to support free legal advice services on the frontline.

As the cost of living rises, the need for free legal help with debt, benefits, housing, asylum and domestic violence is now greater than ever. We will be joining together on Tuesday 13th June to raise vital funds for access to justice.

As ever, we will have a fun finish and celebration of your achievements with our post-Walk street party, complete with street food vendors and entertainment.

See our joining instructions for more information about the event, how to register your teammates and all the logistics for the day.

Thank you to all our sponsors for 2023 – with their support, we make the London Legal Walk the largest fundraising event in the legal calendar.

Start: Registration will be opening at 3pm and closing at 7pm. This 4 hour window will help to reduce congestion on the routes. We recommend arriving nice and early to beat the crowds.  We request that only the team organiser comes to the registration desk on the day to reduce congestion on Carey Street.

See our street party plan here. The closest tube station to Carey Street (WC2A 2JB) is Chancery Lane.

Finish: The Walk concludes with a street party on Carey Street with street food vendors, fire jugglers, musicians and a complimentary beer, wine or soft drink in The Last Judgment (formerly called Knights Templar), The Old Bank of England or Law Society bars. The street party will close and the event will finish at 10pm.

Drinks tokens will be given to the team organiser at the registration desks to distribute to their teams.

The Route: We have our traditional two routes, Parks and River route this year, plus two shorter routes for those who want to participate but require a shorter route as an adjustment. You do not need to let us know which route you are taking in advance – we will have maps printed for you to pick up on the day. You can also go paper free and scan the QR code at the registration desk to follow the route online. Please find our routes, including accessibility information, on our routes page.

What is it all for? We believe in access to justice. Thanks to your participation in events such as the London Legal Walk, we are able to support over 100 organisations in London and the South East each year, helping them provide more free specialist legal advice.

Take part remotely: Not able to make it into Central London, or looking for another way to get involved? Take on 10k (or whatever distance you choose), your way! You can walk, run, push or cycle your way for justice. Or get creative! And by creative we mean that you can do anything that you can get sponsored for – talking, reading, making, baking or whatever takes your fancy – we love to hear about all the amazing ways you are putting the FUN in fundraising.
