LONDON LEGAL WALK 2020

Following government advice in regards to social distancing, mass gatherings and non-essential social contact, we have made the difficult decision to not host the usual the street party and start/finish of the London Legal Walk this year. Public health is everyone's priority and we hope you will understand the necessity of this decision.

Following the success of 10,000 Steps for Justice we encourage you to take on the London Legal Walk 10xChallenge, by walking, running, cycling, hopping, skipping or roller skating 10km local to where you are on the 5th October.

Many advice agencies have reported a six-fold increase in demand as a result of the pandemic, and so while the Walk cannot go ahead in its usual format we must not give up the fight for access to justice.

Thank you to Westminster Council, Royal Parks, the Law Society, LexisNexis, our sponsors and partners for their cooperation and flexibility as we adapt to the situation around COVID-19 and for your continued support.

LONDON LEGAL WALK 10xCHALLENGE- 5 October 2020

Brand new for this year's London Legal Walk is the 10xChallenge! That can still be 10k walking or running but for those who are still working from home in October or are looking for something a bit different to our usual 10k walk, we encourage you to take on your own virtual challenge.

Whether you opt to swim, skip, star jump or skateboard your way to 10, 100, 1,000 or even 10,000, this is your chance to get creative and showcase your talents (or learn a new skill). Take part in your own time and at your own pace, and remember, if the 5th October doesn't suit your schedule you are welcome to choose another date that suits your team!

Struggling for inspiration? Check out some of our suggested 10xChallenges below:

The current Covid-19 government guidance states that from Monday 14 September, when meeting friends and family you do not live with you must not meet in a group of more than 6, indoors or outdoors. If you are meeting colleagues in your office to take part in the London Legal Walk 10xChallenge please follow your organisation's Covid-19 risk assessment policies.

Social distancing measures must be maintained at all times. Stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place (such as wearing face coverings or increasing ventilation indoors).

It is against the law for gatherings of more than 6 people to take place in private homes (including gardens and other outdoor spaces), or in a public outdoors space, except for in certain circumstances as listed on the government website.
