Family Financial Resilience Partnership

Across London, many families are entitled to financial support that they are not currently receiving. The Mayor of London launched FFRP as a £2.2 million programme to help more than 17,500 families on low incomes access up to £8 million in support that would otherwise go unclaimed. 

The programme responds to the financial pressures facing families in the capital, where more than one in three children are living in poverty after housing costs. It also builds on wider income maximisation work that has already helped Londoners claim millions of pounds in support. 

FFRP is supported by a network of specialist advice agencies, including organisations that were part of our Centres of Excellence (COEX) programme, which has been renamed the Legal Advice Sustainability Scheme (LASS).

Eligibility for FFRP is aligned with the Best Start Family Hubs and Children’s Centres offer. Support is available to parents and carers of children and young people aged 0 to 19 years, as well as to parents and carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), where support may extend up to age 25.

For the purposes of FFRP, a family includes parents or carers with dependent children, as well as single care leavers aged 25 and under and individuals aged 25 and under with SEND who may live alone.

Where families include dependent children, all members of the household are considered part of the family unit, including extended and intergenerational family members living within the same household. This ensures that support can take account of the wider family context and household circumstances.

FFRP is being delivered across 12 London boroughs: Barking and Dagenham, Brent, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Greenwich, Hackney, Haringey, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark and Tower Hamlets.
