Raising funds for legal advice charities through LLST events
All of our events are open to everyone who supports the cause of providing free legal advice to poor and vulnerable people who can’t afford to pay a lawyer.
To register a walk team for an event all we need you to do to start with is to fill out the very short registration form for the event with the name of team and details of the team organiser. Walkers can be added to the team from then on.
Individual walkers with no team are always welcome too. They simply fill in the “register as an individual” form and we will add them to the LLST team for the event.
For non-walking events such as the Great Legal Quiz or Great Legal Bake we again just need your event organiser to register.
To register a team or as an individual please find the event at Our Events
Money raised by legal advice charities through LLST (own events or having bought places)
Any charity that provides free legal advice (including pro bono services) in London and the Home Counties can take part in LLST’s events and raise 100% of the funds for themselves. We treat you as we would any other participant, you have your fundraising page made for you, a sponsorship/gift aid form is provided etc. Around 3 months after the event (when the online fundraising page closes) we will transfer you 100% of the funds you raised. If needed we are able to transfer funds before the 3-month deadline, for this you will need to send a request to [email protected].
We do not deduct the admin/card processing fees or any of our costs. LLST subsidises these as part of our work. We simply want to help organisations fund their provision of specialist free legal advice and are very pleased to see them helping themselves by fundraising at our events. In 2016 we gave away over £320,000 through event fundraising by charities.
LLST will not charge an entry fee for events we run ourselves. If the event is not run by LLST and we must purchase places, the price of the place will be deducted from the fundraising total. For example, if a place to run the British 10k costs £35 and £300 is raised in sponsorship money, LLST will transfer £265 to the nominated free legal advice charity.
