Reading Legal Walk – Wednesday 9th September

Led by HHJ Rachel Drake, Mrs Ren Kapur MBE, High Sheriff of Berkshire and Mayor of Reading, Councillor Paul Gittings.

A huge thank you to the walkers who stepped up for justice in Reading. It was incredible to see so many people collectively showing support for frontline advice in their local community.

We are excited to announce that we have raised over £8,600 (and counting) for Age UK, Citizens Advice Reading, FLAG DV, Launchpad and Refugee Support Group. We look forward to seeing you all again next year, with an event date to be announced in due course.

Photos from the day can be seen below:

Why We Walk

The important thing is that we raise as much as possible for the advice charities who are struggling to maintain services with the increased challenges created by the rising cost of living crisis.

The number of people seeking help with Debt, Benefits, Homelessness and Employment has also increased dramatically since the start of the pandemic. Those seeking help with Domestic Violence has also risen sharply.

Taking part in the Reading Legal Walk raises vital funds for local advice charities.
