Oxford Legal Walk – Wednesday 3rd July

Led by HHJ Joanna Vincent

The Oxford Legal Walk is a 10km sponsored walk to raise vital funds for the provision of free legal advice in Oxfordshire. Funds raised from this event support Agnes Smith Advice Centre, Citizens Advice Oxford, Oxfordshire Welfare Rights and Rose Hill & Donnington Advice Centre to offer specialist free legal advice to the most vulnerable members of the Oxford community. These agencies can literally change the lives of people in the Oxford community by breaking down the barriers so they can access the justice they deserve.

By taking part, you will be walking shoulder to shoulder with fellow members of the Oxford legal community. Judges, law firms, barristers chambers, advice agencies, in house legal departments, and university law groups will walk in unison, before enjoying a drinks reception provided by LLST.

Demand for legal advice services has risen dramatically over the past year. The rising cost of living has heaped immense pressure on legal advice agencies who are struggling to cope with such unprecedented demand. We believe everybody should be able to receive legal advice when they need it most. By joining the Oxford Legal Walk, you can help to ensure the people of your community have fair access to justice, and the beneficiary agencies can keep the lights on, and the doors open for the people who need them most.

The walk starts at Oxford Combined Court & finishes at the South Oxford Adventure Playground (SOAP).

Why We Walk
The important thing is that we raise as much as possible for the advice agencies who are struggling to maintain services with the increased challenges created by the rising cost of living.
The number of people seeking help with Debt, Benefits, Homelessness and Employment has increased dramatically over the last year. Now more than ever it’s crucial to support the free legal advice agencies on the frontline.
Taking part in the Oxford Legal Walk raises vital funds for local legal advice agencies.
