Becoming a standalone event for the first time, The Bar v Bench race took place on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to the 100 runners who got up bright and early and took part in the race. Together you have raised an Incredible £26,500 (and counting) for free legal advice charities!
Championed and led by Sam Townend KC (former Chair of the Bar Council), judiciary team captain Mr Justice Constable and the solicitor’s team led by Mark Evans (President of the Law Society of England & Wales) and Ian Jeffery (Chief Executive of the Law Society of England & Wales), Bar v Bench challenges prominent members of the bar, solicitors, the judiciary and the wider legal sector to compete against each other to show their support for access to justice in a 10K run around Central London.
