Becoming a standalone event for the first time, The Bar v Bench race will take place on Wednesday 30 September 2026.

Championed and led by Sam Townend KC (former Chair of the Bar Council), judiciary team captain Mr Justice Constable and the solicitor’s team led by Mark Evans (President of the Law Society of England & Wales) and Ian Jeffrey (Chief Executive of the Law Society of England & Wales), Bar v Bench challenges prominent members of the bar, solicitors, the judiciary and the wider legal sector to compete against each other to show their support for access to justice in a 10K run around Central London.
