2006 - Fundraising Overview
2006 was a good second year for the Trust. The sponsored walk finally raised over £95,000 for London’s legal advice charities while the donations from Allen & Overy’s ‘client account interest’ scheme amounted to over £90,000.
Other donations, including £15,000 from Lovells and sizeable donations from Dechert and Blackstone Chambers brought the Trust’s fundraising to over £200,000 .
Sponsorship of the walk by Holman Fenwick & Willan and Weil, Gothsal & Manges as well as free facilities and administration provided by Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy, Lovells and Simmons & Simmons meant that the outgoings accounted for less than 1% of fundraising.
The largest grants out were made to keep services running while sustainable funding could be found. These included grants to Springfield Law Centre (£20,000), Lawworks mediation (£10,000), Release’s London outreach services ( £6,785) and Hackney Marshes (LAW) project (£5,000).
