Client Account Interest Scheme Exceeds Projections
In the Summer of 2005, Allen & Overy announced that they would donate all proceeds of accumulation of their client accounts to charity. The funds produced are donated to the London Legal Support Trust.
The funding to be produced was estimated to be £75,000 p.a.. However, the first full 6 months has produced £54,365.43, far exceeding expectations.
This is a fantastic result for the first six months and shows that this type of scheme can produce significant help for those agencies that provide legal help for poor and disadvantaged people.
We remain confident that as the Trust begins to show the benefits of the Allen & Overy pilot to voluntary legal agencies, other major City firms will begin similar schemes.
